Welcome to the Repair Café

Repair Cafés are free events where people who have items that need repairing are put in touch with people who have the necessary skills to repair the items.

Our walk-in sessions are held once a month in the Sports Hall of the Tewkesbury Baptist Church Hall from 2-5pm.

Our next session is 2-5pm on 20th April 2024.

Why Repair?

Social

The café space creates a sense of harmony and community where people of all ages and backgrounds but with a common interest can chat, meeting old friends and making new ones. Regular visitors to the Repair Café have become friends with a favourite repairer and ask for them by name.

Economic

Repair saves time and money! More often than not, a very simple repair is all that is needed to fix a broken or damaged item thus saving the unnecessary cost of a replacement. When we send less waste to landfill, costs are reduced and the whole community benefits financially!

Environmental

Repair is the natural way to extend a product's usable life. It reduces waste and pollution, and it saves energy, carbon emissions and finite non-renewable resources. It reduces the need to recycle which often uses more resources than producing something new.
